Carson Soule
Carson Soule, CEO

Mr. Soule incorporated CAS, Computer Applications Specialists, in 1978 with the company's current President, Doug Gerstmyer. Mr. Soule, along with Mr. Gerstmyer, has directed the company's steady growth into a major industry leader since then. Mr. Soule oversees the technical staff and the technical direction of the company. He has traveled all over the country for speaking and consulting engagements. Mr. Soule is uniquely qualified to deal with top industry leaders because of his highly technical background and his business acumen. He has written in publications such as iSeries and e-Pro magazines and is considered an expert in the field.
 
Doug Gerstmyer
Doug Gerstmyer, President

Mr. Gerstmyer is a cofounder of CAS Severn, and along with Carson Soule, has had a major hand in its growth. The idea for a software development company came from his own need to acquire software for a business he owned in the automotive industry. As President and co-owner of the company, Mr. Gerstmyer currently manages the sales teams, marketing department and sales operations department. He works with vendors and partners and helps develop the company's growth strategy including the acquisition of other companies that bring new skill sets or volume to CAS Severn. He attended the University of Maryland.
 
John Blanchette
John Blanchette, VP of Operations

Mr. Blanchette came to CAS Severn in 1992 and currently serves as Vice President of Operations. In this position, Mr. Blanchette is responsible for all day-to-day operations including recruiting and hiring new employees and subcontractors. He is also responsible for managing the staff augmentation team, the application development team and the enterprise content and process management team. He also has experience as a technical developer.
 
Kate Benarick
Kate Benarick, CPA, Controller

Ms. Benarick joined CAS Severn in 1993 and steers the firm financially. She has been part of an office relocation, several acquisitions and company realignments. She manages the accounting and employee benefits staff and manages both day-to-day and long-term financial decisions. Prior to starting at CAS Severn, she worked as a senior accountant for a public accounting firm in Washington, D.C. and worked as a business manager for an architectural firm. She graduated with honors from the University of Wisconsin, Madison.
 
Roy Jackson
Roy Jackson, Vice President of System Engineering

Mr. Jackson started working at CAS Severn in 1986. He has more than 30 years of experience with a wide variety of computer systems, with a heavy emphasis on system architecture and project implementations. Currently Mr. Jackson is responsible for the management of IT strategic planning, system architecture and complex system integration projects. He oversees CAS Severn's 30 project managers and engineers who are designing and implementing system infrastructure and security, server virtualization and disaster recovery solutions. Mr. Jackson works with many CAS Severn customers to help develop strategic plans for IT infrastructure growth and innovation. Attended university of Wyoming, majored in physics and astrophysics.
 
Tom Maskell
Tom Maskell, Vice President, Public Sector Sales

Mr. Maskell came to CAS Severn in May 2004 as an account executive, bringing more than 30 years of IT-related experience including 15 years in an executive role. He was named the leader of the government sales team in March 2007 because of his broad range of IT management and sales experience. The team he manages serves the education sector as well as federal, state and local governments. In 2010, he was promoted to Vice President . Mr. Maskell also brings his knowledge of IBM's eServers, software pillars and storage infrastructure. He continues to guide his clients in purchasing complete solutions that solve real-world business challenges and provide measured and significant return on investment. He holds a Bachelor's degree from Towson University and an MBA from Loyola College. Prior to joining CAS Severn, he worked for SYSCOM, Inc. in Baltimore.
 
Steve Drew
Steven Drew, Vice President, Commercial Sales in the Mid-Atlantic

Mr. Drew joined CAS Severn in 1998 and brought with him more than a decade of IT experience with IBM. As a consistent top performer, he was promoted to lead the commercial sales team in 2006. Mr. Drew's knowledge and experience spans across a broad range of IT initiatives and technologies. Since he was named Vice President in 2010, Mr. Drew has taken a more active role in the direction and development of the company. He has also been a leader for the growing commercial sales force plus has been instrumental in diversifying the firm's product portfolio and services offerings. Mr. Drew holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of Colorado Boulder.
 
Dave Martel
David Martel, Vice President of Commercial Sales in the Northeast

Mr. Martel came to CAS Severn in 2008 as the team lead for the newly-established Northeast office in Manchester, New Hampshire. Since joining CAS Severn, he has created a sales and engineering team that primarily focuses on New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Maine and Connecticut. In January 2010, Mr. Martel was promoted to Vice President of Sales in the Northeast. He has 25 years of experience as an IT reseller, consultant and manager. In addition to managing the Northeast team, Mr. Martel works closely with CAS Severn's vendor partners to provide customers with the best alternatives to improve their IT infrastructure and get the most from their IT investment. Prior to his work at CAS Severn, he had served as Vice President of Sales for a large New England reseller, where he spent eight years.
