CAS Severn, a regional technology solutions provider, is now an approved, certified participant in Virginia’s Small, Women-owned, and Minority-owned Business (SWaM) certification program, a statewide initiative that enhances procurement opportunities for SWaM businesses participating in state-funded projects.

The certification strengthens CAS Severn’s commitment to the State of Virginia. In 2015 CAS Severn was awarded the contract to provide IBM Software and Services to Virginia Information Technologies Agency (VITA), the information technology consolidation organization within the Commonwealth responsible for the governance of the state’s information security programs and IT investments. The contract allows authorized Virginia Commonwealth state agencies to acquire IBM software solutions, renewals and services through CAS Severn.

“We are excited to expand our services throughout the state of Virginia with both the SWaM certification and the VITA contracting vehicle,” said CAS Severn President Steve Drew. “With more than 50 satisfied state and local government clients, we have the expertise to understand the challenges state organizations face. We work within budget cycles and can help structure acquisitions over fiscal years. We proudly commit to all of our clients to deliver best-in-class solutions on time, on budget, and within scope—without taking any shortcuts.”

Virginia’s SWaM program was established in 2006 to enhance business opportunities for SWaM businesses.  In order for a vendor to be recognized as a SWaM vendor by the Commonwealth, the vendor must be certified through the Virginia Department of Small Business & Supplier Diversity (DSBSD).
